Possible Causes

Loose wiring between display board and main PCB, failed user interface board, failed main control board, electrical noise or surge damage

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the front panel or control box cover.

Steps to troubleshoot E6:

  • 1. Power cycle: Unplug the unit for 5–10 minutes, then plug back in. Sometimes E6 is cleared by a full reset.
  • 2. Inspect control panel: Remove the front bezel to access the display/control board. Check for moisture, corrosion, or signs of liquid spills on the buttons and PCB.
  • 3. Check harness connections: Locate the ribbon cable or wire harness between the display board and the main control board. Unplug and replug both ends to ensure a solid connection.
  • 4. Look for damage: Examine both boards for burnt components, cracked solder joints, or melted connectors.
  • 5. Test operation: Reassemble enough to safely power the unit and test. If E6 persists and all connections are secure, one of the boards is likely defective.
  • 6. Replace the faulty board: In many cases, replacing the display/control board resolves E6. If that does not help, the main control board will need replacement.

Note: If you are not comfortable working around electronic boards, have a technician perform this repair.
