• 1. Improve ventilation: Ensure the outdoor side of the Koldfront unit has adequate clearance and is not enclosed by covers, screens, or tight spaces.
• 2. Clean condenser coil: Access the outdoor coil and gently brush off dirt and debris. For heavy buildup, use a non-corrosive coil cleaner and rinse carefully, keeping water away from electrical components.
• 3. Check condenser fan: With power disconnected, spin the outdoor fan blade by hand. It should move freely without grinding. If stiff or noisy, the fan motor may be failing.
• 4. Inspect fan motor wiring: Verify that the condenser fan motor wires are intact and firmly connected to the control board or capacitor (if used).
• 5. Reduce load: On extremely hot days, set the thermostat a few degrees higher and use additional fans indoors to reduce strain on the unit.
• 6. Technician service: If E8 persists after cleaning and verifying fan operation, a technician should check refrigerant pressures and the high-pressure protection circuit.
