  • 2. Clear drain openings: Locate and clear any drain holes or weep slots in the base pan.
  • 3. Check for rust or cracks: If the base pan is rusted through or cracked, it may need repair (rust treatment and sealant) or replacement.
  • 4. Reinstall with proper pitch: Ensure the unit is pitched slightly downward to the outside so water does not pool against the wall.
