Indoor unit emits a musty or moldy odor when operating.

Safety: Turn off power before cleaning. Wear gloves and a mask if sensitive to mold.

Steps:

• Clean filters: Wash filters thoroughly and dry completely.
• Clean coil surface: Use a coil-safe cleaner designed for mini-split/AC indoor coils. Spray onto the coil fins and allow to drain into the pan.
• Disinfect drain pan: If accessible, wipe the pan with a mild bleach solution (diluted) or an AC-safe disinfectant. Rinse thoroughly.
• Run in fan mode: After cleaning, run the unit in FAN-only mode for 30–60 minutes to help dry the coil and pan.

Technician involvement: For severe contamination, a professional deep cleaning with coil removal may be necessary.
