Possible Causes
Blocked condenser coil, Failed condenser fan motor, High ambient temperature with inadequate airflow, Incorrect refrigerant charge
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before servicing the outdoor unit.
- Clean condenser coil: Remove top grille and gently clean the Luxaire condenser coil as described for E1. Ensure fins are straight and unobstructed.
- Verify fan operation: Restore power and observe the condenser fan. If it fails to start or runs slowly, shut power off and replace the fan motor and its capacitor (if separate).
- Improve ventilation: Trim shrubs, remove fences or obstructions, and ensure the unit is not recirculating its own hot discharge air.
- Technician check: If E8 recurs, a technician should verify refrigerant charge, check for non‑condensables, and confirm that the Luxaire system is operating within design pressures.
