Possible Causes
Failed discharge temperature sensor, Sensor not properly attached to discharge line, Overheating compressor discharge due to low airflow or overcharge
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and allow the unit to cool before touching refrigerant lines.
- Locate discharge sensor: Find the sensor clipped to the small (hot) discharge line near the compressor in the Luxaire condenser.
- Check attachment: Ensure the sensor is firmly clamped to the line and insulated if required by the manufacturer.
- Inspect sensor and wiring: Replace the sensor if the body is cracked or wires are damaged. Use the OEM Luxaire discharge sensor.
- Address overheating causes: Clean the condenser coil and verify condenser fan operation as described for E1/E8. Persistent high discharge temperature requires a technician to check charge and system design.
