Possible Causes
Loose condenser fan blade, Bent fan blade hitting shroud, Failed compressor mounting springs, Debris inside condenser cabinet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the disconnect before opening the condenser.
- Inspect fan blade: Remove the top grille and visually inspect the Luxaire fan blade. Tighten the hub set screw on the motor shaft. Replace the blade if bent or cracked.
- Check for debris: Remove sticks, rocks, or other objects that may have fallen into the cabinet.
- Compressor mounts: If the noise is from the compressor base, inspect rubber mounts or springs. Broken mounts can allow the compressor to bang against the cabinet and should be replaced by a technician.
- Do not run with severe noise: Operating with mechanical interference can cause further damage. Leave the unit off until repaired.
