Possible Causes
Tripped breaker, Blown low‑voltage fuse on control board, Faulty thermostat, Open float switch due to clogged condensate drain
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Use caution around electrical panels. Turn off main power if unsure.
- Check breakers: Inspect the main electrical panel for tripped breakers labeled for the Luxaire air handler and condenser. Reset once; if they trip again, call a technician.
- Inspect thermostat: Ensure the display is on. Replace batteries if applicable. Confirm mode is set to COOL and temperature is set low enough.
- Check condensate safety switch: At the air handler, look for a float switch on the drain pan or in the drain line. If the pan is full of water, the switch will open and stop the system. Clear the drain line and reset the float.
- Low‑voltage fuse: Many Luxaire boards have a 3–5A automotive‑style fuse. With power off, inspect and replace if blown. If it blows again, there is a short in the 24V circuit that needs professional diagnosis.
