H1
Midea
Defrost Mode Indication (Not a Fault) / Heating Delay
Display shows H1; indoor unit may blow cold air or stop during heating

Possible Causes
Normal defrost operation in heating mode, Low outdoor temperature causing frequent defrost cycles
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Note: H1 on many Midea models is an informational code indicating the unit is in defrost or compressor warm-up, not a failure.
Steps:
- 1. Wait 10–15 minutes: Allow the unit to complete its defrost or warm-up cycle. The indoor fan may stop or blow cool air during this time.
- 2. Check outdoor unit: Confirm that frost on the outdoor coil is melting and that water is draining from the base pan.
- 3. Ensure proper installation: In very cold climates, ensure the outdoor unit is not sitting in standing water or snow, which can increase defrost frequency.
When to call a technician: If H1 remains indefinitely or heating never resumes, there may be a defrost control issue that requires professional diagnosis.
