Portable Midea AC displays P2; unit stops cooling and may beep

Possible Causes
Internal condensate tank full, Blocked drain port, Unit not level causing poor drainage, Faulty water level float switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off and unplug the portable AC before draining water.
Steps to fix:
- 1. Drain the tank: Move the unit to a location where water spillage is acceptable. Remove the lower drain plug or cap at the back/bottom and drain water into a shallow pan or tray.
- 2. Check continuous drain hose (if used): Ensure the hose is not kinked, blocked, or routed upward. It must slope downward to the drain point.
- 3. Level the unit: Make sure the portable AC is on a flat, level surface so water flows correctly to the tank or drain.
- 4. Clean float switch area: If accessible, remove the rear panel and clean around the float switch to remove slime or debris that may cause sticking.
When to call a technician: If P2 appears immediately after draining and leveling, the float switch or its wiring may be faulty and require service.
