Indoor unit displays lights but does not respond to remote control commands

Safety first: No high-voltage work is required for basic checks, but turn off power before opening the unit.

Steps:

• Check remote: Replace batteries and verify the remote emits IR using a smartphone camera (look for flashing when pressing buttons).
• Clear line of sight: Ensure nothing blocks the receiver window on the indoor unit and avoid direct strong sunlight on it.
• Test close range: Stand directly in front of the unit and try commands.
• Inspect receiver PCB: If still unresponsive, remove the front panel and check that the IR receiver board is connected properly. Replace the receiver PCB if faulty.
