Possible Causes
High head pressure from dirty coil, Low refrigerant causing overheating, Failing compressor, Blocked outdoor airflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the outdoor disconnect.
Steps:
- Clean outdoor coil: Remove debris and wash the condenser coil.
- Check airflow: Ensure adequate clearance around the outdoor unit.
- Allow cool-down: Leave the system off for at least 30 minutes to allow the compressor to cool.
If H3 recurs: A technician should check refrigerant charge, compressor amperage, and possibly replace the compressor overload protector or compressor itself.
