Possible Causes

Clogged condensate drain line, Improper drain line slope, Disconnected drain hose, Frozen evaporator coil overflowing pan

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power to avoid electrical hazards around water.

Steps:

  • Check filters and coil: Clean the air filters and inspect the evaporator coil for ice. If iced, allow to thaw completely.
  • Clear drain line: Locate the condensate drain outlet outside. Use a wet/dry vacuum to suck out debris and algae from the drain line.
  • Inspect drain connection: Remove the indoor front cover and verify the drain hose is securely attached to the drain pan stub and sloped downward.

If leaking continues: The drain pan may be cracked or the unit may be improperly leveled. A technician may need to re-level the indoor unit or replace the drain pan.
