Possible Causes

Loose communication harness, corroded connectors, damaged display PCB, failed main control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the air conditioner before removing any control panels.

Steps:

  • Access control area: Remove the front bezel or top cover to expose the display/control PCB and the main control PCB (often in a side or rear compartment).
  • Inspect harness: Locate the multi-wire communication cable between the display board and main board. Check for pinched, cut, or burned wires.
  • Reseat connectors: Unplug the harness at both ends, inspect for corrosion or bent pins, then firmly reconnect.
  • Check for moisture: Look for signs of condensation or water intrusion around the control panel. Dry thoroughly and correct any gasket or seal issues.
  • Board substitution: If wiring is intact and E6 persists, replace the display/control PCB first (usually easier and cheaper). If that does not resolve the issue, the main control PCB may also need replacement.
