Possible Causes
Full internal water reservoir, blocked condensate drain path, failed internal condensate pump (if equipped), stuck water level sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before draining or opening panels.
Steps:
- Manual drain: Locate the lower drain outlet. Attach a drain hose or place a pan under the outlet and remove the cap to drain all water.
- Continuous drain setup (optional): If available, connect a continuous drain hose to the designated port and route it to a floor drain to prevent future P1 alerts.
- Check internal pump (if present): Some NewAir portables use a small condensate pump. Access the pump, check for obstructions in the inlet and outlet tubing, and ensure the impeller spins freely.
- Inspect water level sensor: Verify that the float or electronic level sensor moves freely and that its wiring is intact.
- Replace faulty components: If the pump does not run when water is present, replace the condensate pump. If the sensor is stuck or misreading, replace the water level sensor/float assembly.
