Possible Causes
Evaporator coil temperature too low, restricted airflow, low ambient temperature, faulty evaporator sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before cleaning or opening panels.
Steps:
- Check ambient temperature: Ensure the room temperature is within the operating range specified by NewAir (typically above ~61°F / 16°C for cooling).
- Clean filters and coils: Remove and wash the air filter. Inspect the evaporator coil for dust or ice buildup. Allow any ice to melt completely before restarting.
- Improve airflow: Make sure furniture or curtains are not blocking the intake or discharge vents.
- Sensor check: If P2 appears even in normal ambient conditions with clean filters, test the evaporator temperature sensor for proper resistance and replace if faulty.
- Restart: After corrections, plug the unit back in and restart in cooling mode. If P2 persists, the main control PCB may be misreading sensor data.
