Short Cycling / Improper Thermostat Control
Unit turns on and off frequently (short cycling) without reaching set temperature.

Possible Causes
Thermostat sensor too close to cold air outlet, oversized unit for room, dirty filter causing rapid coil freeze, control board logic fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before repositioning sensors or opening panels.
Steps:
- Sensor placement: Locate the ambient temperature sensor and ensure it is in the return air stream, not directly in the cold discharge airflow.
- Clean filter and coils: Dirty filters and coils can cause rapid icing and shutdown. Clean thoroughly.
- Check room size: An oversized unit will cool the area near the sensor quickly and shut off, then restart frequently. Consider using a lower fan speed or relocating the unit for better air mixing.
- Control board: If short cycling persists with correct sensor placement and clean filters, the main control PCB may be misreading temperature and require replacement.
