Possible Causes

Open or shorted evaporator NTC sensor, Sensor dislodged from evaporator coil, Damaged sensor harness, Faulty main PCB sensor circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Warning: Always disconnect power before removing covers. Sharp metal edges around coils can cause injury; wear gloves.

  • Remove front cover: Take off the front panel and air filter to access the indoor evaporator coil on the Olimpia Splendid unit.
  • Locate the evaporator sensor: It is usually clipped or taped to the evaporator fins or inserted into a small well on the coil. Look for a small probe with two thin wires.
  • Check placement: Ensure the sensor is firmly attached to the coil surface. If it has fallen off, reattach it using the original clip or aluminum tape rated for refrigeration use.
  • Inspect wiring: Follow the sensor cable to the PCB. Check for cuts, crushed sections, or loose connectors. Reseat the plug on the control board.
  • Test the sensor: With the unit unplugged, disconnect the sensor and measure resistance. Compare to the room sensor value at similar temperature. A reading of 0 Ω or infinite indicates a defective sensor.
  • Replace if defective: Install a new "Evaporator NTC sensor" specified for your Olimpia Splendid model. Route the cable as originally installed to avoid contact with the fan.
  • If E2 persists with a good sensor: The main PCB may not be reading the sensor correctly. Board replacement is recommended to be done by a professional.
