Possible Causes
Stalled or blocked indoor cross-flow fan, Failed indoor fan motor, Faulty fan capacitor (on non-DC models), Defective indoor PCB fan drive circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Warning: Fan blades can start unexpectedly. Disconnect power before working near the blower.
- Check for obstructions: Remove the front cover and filter. Inspect the indoor cross-flow fan (drum fan) for foreign objects, ice buildup, or warped plastic rubbing against the housing.
- Spin test: With power off, gently rotate the fan by hand. It should spin freely without grinding. If stiff, clean the shaft ends and remove debris.
- Restart and observe: Restore power and command fan-only mode. If the fan hums but does not start, a capacitor or motor fault is likely (for AC motors).
- Check fan capacitor (if present): On some Olimpia Splendid wall units, a small capacitor is mounted near the indoor motor. Discharge and test it; replace if out of spec.
- DC fan motors: If your unit uses a DC brushless fan, E7 often indicates motor or PCB drive failure. Inspect connectors and wiring; reseat plugs.
- Replace motor if needed: Order the correct "Indoor fan motor" for your Olimpia Splendid model. Transfer the fan drum carefully to the new motor, ensuring correct alignment.
