Possible Causes
Clogged air filters or coils, Failing indoor or outdoor fan motor, Blocked air discharge or intake, Faulty temperature sensor or overload protector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Note: Overheat errors protect the system from damage. Do not repeatedly reset without addressing the cause.
- Clean filters and coils: Remove and wash filters. Inspect indoor and outdoor coils on the Olimpia Splendid unit and clean dust and lint with a soft brush.
- Check fan airflow: Ensure both indoor and outdoor fans are running at full speed. Listen for unusual noises or slow startup.
- Clear obstructions: Maintain adequate clearance around the unit. Do not place covers or decorative panels over the outdoor unit.
- Inspect ambient conditions: If the unit is installed in a confined or very hot space, improve ventilation or shading.
- Reset: Turn off the unit and disconnect power for 10 minutes. Restart and monitor. If E8 returns quickly, a sensor or overload device may be faulty.
- Professional check: Persistent E8 can indicate a failing compressor, blocked refrigerant circuit, or defective PCB. These require a certified technician.
