Possible Causes

Seized or obstructed outdoor fan, Failed outdoor fan motor, Faulty fan capacitor (AC motor types), Defective outdoor PCB fan drive

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Warning: Outdoor fan blades are sharp and can start unexpectedly. Disconnect power before working.

  • Visual inspection: Check the Olimpia Splendid outdoor fan for debris, ice, or bent blades contacting the shroud.
  • Manual spin test: With power off, spin the fan by hand. It should rotate freely. If stiff, the motor bearings may be failing.
  • Check capacitor (if present): Some models use a separate capacitor for the outdoor fan. Discharge and test it; replace if out of tolerance.
  • Wiring check: Inspect the motor wiring harness and connector for burns or loose contacts.
  • Replace motor: If the motor is seized or electrically open, replace it with the correct "Outdoor fan motor" for your Olimpia Splendid model.
  • PCB drive fault: If the motor and capacitor are good but F4 remains, the outdoor PCB may have a failed fan drive circuit and should be replaced by a technician.
