• Listen for compressor: A brief click without compressor hum may indicate a control issue; a loud hum then stop suggests a mechanical or capacitor problem.
• Inspect capacitor (if accessible): On some Olimpia Splendid portable units, the compressor capacitor is accessible behind a side panel. Discharge and test it; replace if out of spec.
• Ambient lockout: Some models prevent compressor operation below a certain temperature. Check the manual for operating limits.
• Technician required: If the compressor is receiving correct voltage but does not start, it or the PCB is likely faulty and needs professional diagnosis.
