Steps:

• 1. Replace batteries: Install fresh, correctly oriented batteries in the Panasonic remote.
• 2. Check remote operation: Point the remote at a smartphone camera and press a button; you should see the IR LED flash on the screen. If not, the remote may be faulty.
• 3. Clear line of sight: Ensure nothing is blocking the IR receiver window on the indoor unit.
• 4. Try manual operation: Many Panasonic indoor units have an emergency or test run button under the front panel. Press it to see if the unit responds; if it does, the IR receiver or remote is at fault.

If the remote works but the unit does not respond, the IR receiver board or indoor PCB may need replacement.
