Safety first: Immediately turn off and unplug the unit if you smell burning. Do not continue to operate until inspected.
- Step 1 – Visual inspection:
- Remove panels and look for burnt wires, discolored connectors, or charred PCB areas.
- Step 2 – Check motors:
- Smell near the fan motors and compressor to identify the source.
- If a motor is extremely hot or smells burnt, replace the Fan Motor or have the compressor checked.
- Step 3 – Tighten connections:
- Tighten any loose spade connectors or terminal screws on the power input and compressor circuit.
