Possible Causes
Failed outdoor thermistor, Sensor wire damaged by vibration, Connector corrosion, Main PCB sensor input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit. Outdoor sections may have sharp metal edges; wear gloves.
- Step 1 – Access outdoor sensor:
- On portable heat pump units, the condenser coil is inside the cabinet; remove the rear panel.
- Locate the sensor clipped to the condenser coil or discharge line.
- Step 2 – Inspect and test:
- Check that the sensor is firmly attached and wires are intact.
- Test resistance with a multimeter; compare to service data if available.
- Step 3 – Replace sensor:
- Install a new Pro Breeze Outdoor / Condenser Temperature Sensor if the old one is defective.
If F3 remains, the main PCB may misread the sensor and require replacement.
