H1 code displayed, unit runs in heat mode with reduced output

Note: H1 on many Pro Breeze heat pump models indicates an active defrost cycle, not a fault.

• Step 1 – Allow defrost to complete:
  • Leave the unit powered on; the outdoor/condenser coil will warm to melt ice.
  • Heating will resume automatically when defrost ends.
• Step 2 – Check airflow and drainage:
  • Ensure outdoor coil has good airflow and is not blocked by snow, leaves, or debris.
  • Verify condensate drains freely so melted ice does not refreeze on the coil.
• Step 3 – If H1 persists excessively:
  • Clean the outdoor/condenser coil.
  • Have a technician check the Defrost Sensor and refrigerant charge.

Continuous H1 without normal heating may indicate a sensor or control issue requiring service.
