How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before tilting or opening it.
- Step 1 – Level the unit:
- Ensure the air conditioner is on a flat, level surface.
- For window units, confirm the recommended slight tilt to the outside is maintained.
- Step 2 – Thoroughly drain and clean:
- Drain all water from both primary and secondary drain ports if present.
- Clean the internal condensate tray and check for algae or sludge.
- Step 3 – Inspect secondary float:
- Locate the secondary float switch assembly and verify free movement.
- Replace the Secondary Float Switch if stuck or electrically faulty.
If P2 persists, the control board may be misreading the float inputs and require service.
