How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit. Use appropriate protective gear (gloves, mask) when cleaning mold.
- Step 1 – Clean filter:
- Wash or replace the air filter.
- Step 2 – Clean evaporator coil:
- Access the evaporator coil and spray with a non-rinse foaming coil cleaner suitable for AC units.
- Allow the cleaner to work and drain into the pan.
- Step 3 – Disinfect drain pan:
- Wipe the condensate pan with a mild bleach solution (if compatible with materials) or an AC-safe disinfectant.
- Step 4 – Run in fan mode:
- After cleaning, run the unit in FAN-only mode for 30–60 minutes to dry the coil.
