Possible Causes
Dead remote batteries, Obstructed IR sensor window, Faulty remote control, Failed IR receiver on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No high-voltage work is required for basic checks, but unplug the unit before opening the control panel.
- Step 1 – Check remote:
- Replace batteries with fresh, correct-type cells.
- Ensure you are within the recommended distance and pointing at the front panel.
- Step 2 – Clean IR window:
- Wipe the IR receiver window on the unit's front with a soft cloth.
- Step 3 – Test remote output:
- Use a smartphone camera to view the remote's IR LED while pressing buttons; you should see a flashing light.
- If no flash, replace the Remote Control Handset.
- Step 4 – Check IR receiver:
- If the remote works but the unit does not respond, the IR Receiver Module on the control board may be faulty and require board or receiver replacement.
