Possible Causes
Compressor not starting, Reversing valve stuck in heat position (heat pump models), Low refrigerant, Incorrect mode setting
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before internal inspection.
- Step 1 – Confirm settings:
- Ensure the unit is set to COOL mode, not FAN or HEAT.
- Set temperature at least 3–5°C below room temperature.
- Step 2 – Listen for compressor:
- If the compressor never starts, refer to compressor start failure troubleshooting.
- Step 3 – Heat pump models:
- If in COOL mode but air is warm, the Reversing Valve may be stuck; this requires a technician to diagnose and possibly replace the valve.
If the compressor runs but air is still warm, a refrigerant issue is likely and must be handled by a licensed technician.
