Unit frequently turns on and off (short cycling)

Safety first: Unplug the unit before repositioning sensors or opening panels.

• Step 1 – Check sensor placement:
  • Locate the room temperature sensor near the intake.
  • Ensure it is not directly in the cold air stream from the outlet.
• Step 2 – Clean filter and coils:
  • Clean the air filter and coils to ensure even airflow.
• Step 3 – Adjust setpoint and mode:
  • Avoid setting the temperature extremely low; use a moderate setpoint.
  • Use AUTO fan mode if available to reduce rapid cycling.

If short cycling continues, the control board or sensor calibration may be faulty and require service.
