Possible Causes
Shorted compressor windings, Blocked condenser coil, Faulty outdoor fan motor, Defective inverter module on outdoor PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: High current faults can cause fire risk. Turn off the breaker immediately if burning smell is detected.
- Step 1 – Inspect outdoor airflow: Ensure the outdoor fan is spinning freely and not obstructed by debris. With power OFF, spin the fan blade by hand; it should move smoothly.
- Step 2 – Clean condenser coil: As with E104, clean the outdoor coil thoroughly.
- Step 3 – Power reset: After cleaning, turn power off for 10 minutes, then restart and observe operation.
- Step 4 – Observe for abnormal noise: If the compressor hums loudly, trips, or the breaker trips repeatedly, stop using the unit.
- Technician required: Overcurrent conditions usually require professional testing of compressor windings, inverter module, and fan motor. Do not continue to reset the breaker repeatedly.
