Possible Causes

Defective pipe thermistor, Poor contact between sensor and refrigerant pipe, Wiring harness damage, Indoor PCB fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety warning: Do not cut or open refrigerant pipes. Only adjust or replace the sensor and its clip.

  • Step 1 – Locate pipe sensor: With power OFF and front cover removed, locate the thermistor clipped to a copper pipe near the indoor coil.
  • Step 2 – Ensure firm contact: The sensor must be tightly clipped to the pipe with insulation wrapped over it. Re-secure the clip and re-wrap insulation if loose.
  • Step 3 – Inspect harness: Check for damaged insulation or pulled connectors.
  • Step 4 – Replace sensor: If the sensor is cracked or corroded, replace it with a Samsung pipe thermistor specified for your model.
  • Step 5 – Test operation: Restore power and run the unit. If E123 remains, an indoor PCB issue is likely and requires professional service.
