Dead remote batteries, Faulty remote transmitter, Blocked IR receiver window, Failed IR receiver board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No high-voltage work is required for basic checks.
- Step 1 – Replace batteries: Install new, high-quality batteries in the Samsung remote, observing correct polarity.
- Step 2 – Check remote output: Point the remote at a smartphone camera and press a button; you should see a flashing light on the camera screen if the IR LED is working.
- Step 3 – Clear line of sight: Ensure no objects are blocking the IR receiver on the indoor unit and clean the receiver window.
- Step 4 – Test close range: Stand within 1–2 meters and aim directly at the receiver.
- Step 5 – Replace remote or receiver: If the remote is faulty, replace it with a Samsung-compatible remote. If the remote works but the unit does not respond, the IR receiver board may need replacement.
