Indoor unit displays E0 and will not start cooling or heating
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the air conditioner using the remote, then switch OFF the circuit breaker or unplug the unit. Wait at least 5 minutes before removing any covers.
- Power reset: Restore power after 5–10 minutes of being off. Sometimes E0 is cleared by a full power reset after a surge.
- Check indoor front panel and display board: Remove the front fascia (on wall splits) and verify the display/receiver board harness is firmly connected to the main PCB. Reseat any loose connectors.
- Inspect for burn marks: Look at the indoor main PCB for burnt components, swollen capacitors, or a burnt smell. If present, the board must be replaced.
- Check supply voltage: Use a multimeter (if trained) to confirm correct mains voltage at the indoor unit terminals. Incorrect voltage can corrupt EEPROM or damage the board.
If E0 persists after a power reset and connector check, the indoor main PCB or EEPROM is likely faulty and should be replaced by a qualified technician.
