Possible Causes
Loose communication cable between indoor and outdoor units, Reversed polarity on L/N or communication terminals, Damaged communication cable, Faulty indoor or outdoor main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the main isolator before accessing terminal blocks.
- Verify wiring connections: Open the indoor and outdoor electrical covers. Confirm that the communication terminals (often labeled S, 1, 2, 3, etc.) are wired identically at both ends and firmly tightened.
- Check polarity: Ensure Live (L), Neutral (N), and Earth are correctly connected and not swapped with communication terminals.
- Inspect cable condition: Look for cuts, crushed sections, or water ingress in the interconnecting cable. Replace if damaged.
- Power cycle: After correcting wiring, power off for 5 minutes, then restore power and test.
If E6 persists with correct wiring and a good cable, either the indoor or outdoor PCB may be defective and should be tested/replaced by a technician.
