E7 error and indoor louver does not move or is stuck in one position
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Jammed louver blades, Broken louver linkage, Failed louver stepper motor, Disconnected louver motor harness from indoor PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the unit and disconnect power before touching the louver assembly.
- Check for obstructions: Gently move the louver by hand (do not force). Remove any foreign objects like toys, plastic, or dust buildup blocking movement.
- Inspect linkage: Open the front panel and observe the plastic arms connecting the motor to the louver. Replace if cracked or detached.
- Verify motor connection: Locate the small louver motor on the side of the indoor unit and ensure its connector is firmly seated on the PCB.
- Test operation: Restore power and change the swing setting on the remote. If the louver still does not move and E7 returns, the motor is likely faulty.
Replace the louver motor assembly with a compatible SMEG part if defective.
