Possible Causes
Failed evaporator NTC sensor, Sensor dislodged from coil, Broken sensor harness, Corroded connector at indoor PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing covers.
- Locate evaporator sensor: It is usually clipped onto the evaporator coil tubing near the center or side of the coil.
- Check mounting: Ensure the sensor is firmly attached to the coil surface for accurate readings.
- Inspect connector: Reseat the sensor connector on the indoor PCB and check for corrosion.
- Replace sensor: If F1 remains, install a new SMEG evaporator NTC sensor with the correct rating.
After replacement, clear the error by power cycling the unit.
