Possible Causes

Supply voltage too high or too low, Loose mains connections, Faulty PFC (power factor correction) circuit on PCB, Oversized generator or unstable power source

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power before checking terminals.

  • Check mains voltage: Have a qualified electrician measure voltage at the unit. Compare with SMEG nameplate rating.
  • Tighten terminals: Ensure all L/N/E screws are tight in the indoor and outdoor units.
  • Avoid unstable power: Do not run the unit on undersized or poor-quality generators.
  • Power cycle: After correcting supply issues, power off for 5 minutes and restart.

If P0 persists with correct voltage, the inverter PCB may require replacement.
