Indoor unit displays lights but buttons on the unit do not respond

Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the front panel.

• Use remote: Confirm that the unit can still be controlled via the remote; this isolates the fault to the local keypad.
• Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the front cover and check that the flat cable from the keypad/display board to the PCB is firmly seated.
• Check for moisture: Look for signs of water or cleaning fluid inside the panel; dry thoroughly if present.
• Replace panel: If unresponsive, replace the keypad/display board with the correct SMEG part.

After replacement, test all buttons and basic functions.
