Possible Causes
Dirty indoor air filter on TCL wall unit, Clogged evaporator or condenser coils, Low refrigerant charge, Undersized unit for room size
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF and disconnect power before cleaning.
- Step 1 – Clean filters: Remove and wash indoor filters. For window and portable TCL units, also clean any rear or side intake filters.
- Step 2 – Clean coils: Inspect indoor and outdoor coils and clean with a soft brush or coil cleaner if dusty.
- Step 3 – Check room conditions: Close doors and windows. Reduce heat sources (ovens, direct sun) and ensure curtains or blinds are used to block sunlight.
- Step 4 – Verify mode and setpoint: Ensure the unit is in COOL mode with a set temperature at least 3–5°C below room temperature and fan on MED or HIGH.
- Step 5 – Professional refrigerant check: If performance is still poor, have a technician check for refrigerant leaks and verify the system charge.
Warning: Do not attempt to add refrigerant without proper tools and certification.
