Possible Causes
Failed DC indoor fan motor, Loose fan motor connector on indoor PCB, Obstructed blower wheel, Faulty indoor main PCB fan driver circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the indoor unit cover.
- Step 1 – Check for obstructions: Open the front panel and visually inspect the blower wheel. Remove any foreign objects (plastic, paper, insects) that may block rotation.
- Step 2 – Spin test: Gently spin the blower by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding. If it is stiff, the motor bearings may be failing.
- Step 3 – Inspect wiring: Locate the indoor fan motor connector on the main PCB. Reseat the connector and check for damaged wires.
- Step 4 – Test operation: Restore power and run the unit in FAN mode. If the fan does not start or starts then stops with E6, the motor is likely defective.
- Step 5 – Replace indoor fan motor: Remove the blower assembly according to TCL service instructions and install a new OEM indoor fan motor compatible with your model.
Warning: Do not force the blower wheel; it can crack and become unbalanced, causing noise and further damage.
