Possible Causes
Blocked indoor air filter, Indoor heat exchanger sensor detecting high temperature, Indoor fan speed too low, Indoor PCB temperature sensor fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug the unit before cleaning.
- Step 1 – Clean filters and coil: Remove and wash filters. Inspect and clean the indoor coil if dusty.
- Step 2 – Check fan speed: Run the unit on HIGH fan speed and ensure strong airflow from the louvers. If airflow is weak, inspect the fan motor and blower wheel for dirt or damage.
- Step 3 – Sensor inspection: Locate the indoor heat exchanger sensor (usually clipped to the evaporator coil). Ensure it is firmly attached and not dislodged. If the sensor is loose, reattach it securely.
- Step 4 – Replace faulty sensor: If E8 persists, a technician should measure the sensor resistance and replace it if out of specification.
Warning: Do not operate the unit with covers removed; this can cause electric shock and improper airflow.
