Possible Causes
Open or shorted evaporator NTC sensor, Sensor dislodged from evaporator coil, Damaged sensor harness, Faulty indoor PCB sensor circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the evaporator area.
- Step 1 – Locate the evaporator sensor: It is typically clipped to the evaporator coil tubing near the center of the coil.
- Step 2 – Check attachment: Ensure the sensor is firmly clipped to the coil. If it has fallen off, reattach it securely to ensure accurate temperature sensing.
- Step 3 – Inspect wiring: Follow the sensor wires back to the PCB and check for damage or loose connectors.
- Step 4 – Replace sensor: If F2 remains, replace the evaporator sensor with the correct TCL part.
- Step 5 – PCB replacement: If a new sensor does not resolve the error, the indoor PCB may be defective and require replacement.
Warning: Avoid bending or puncturing the refrigerant tubes when working around the evaporator coil.
