How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power at the breaker before opening the outdoor unit.
- Step 1 – Inspect fan blades: Remove any debris or objects blocking the fan. Ensure blades are not cracked or bent.
- Step 2 – Spin test: With power off, spin the fan by hand. It should rotate freely. Stiffness indicates bearing failure.
- Step 3 – Check connector: Verify the fan motor connector is firmly attached to the outdoor PCB.
- Step 4 – Test operation: Restore power and run COOL mode. If the fan does not start and F7 appears, replace the outdoor fan motor.
- Step 5 – PCB check: If a new motor does not fix the issue, the outdoor PCB may be defective and require replacement.
Warning: Never run the compressor without a functioning outdoor fan; this can cause rapid overheating and damage.
