Remote control does not operate the TCL air conditioner
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Dead batteries in TCL remote, Obstructed line of sight to indoor unit, Faulty IR receiver board on indoor unit, Remote control internal failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
- Step 1 – Replace batteries: Install fresh, correctly oriented batteries in the remote.
- Step 2 – Check IR transmission: Point the remote at a smartphone camera and press a button; you should see a flashing light on the screen. If not, the remote may be faulty.
- Step 3 – Clear line of sight: Ensure nothing blocks the IR window on the indoor unit.
- Step 4 – Test manual controls: Use the emergency ON/OFF button on the indoor unit (if available). If the unit responds, the IR receiver or remote is at fault.
- Step 5 – Replace remote or receiver: Replace the remote first. If still no response, replace the IR receiver board on the indoor unit.
Warning: Do not open the remote or indoor PCB while connected to power.
