Possible Causes

Tripped outdoor unit breaker, Loose power supply terminals at outdoor unit, Faulty outdoor power relay on PCB, Overcurrent protection triggered by compressor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Switch off the main AC breaker and lock it out if possible. Use insulated tools.

  • Step 1 – Check breakers and fuses: Verify the dedicated outdoor unit breaker is ON and not tripped. Reset if necessary. Inspect any cartridge fuses in the outdoor disconnect and replace if blown with the same rating.
  • Step 2 – Inspect outdoor terminal block: Remove the outdoor electrical cover. Tighten all line and neutral terminals. Look for burn marks or melted plastic indicating overheating.
  • Step 3 – Measure supply voltage: With power restored and extreme caution, measure voltage at the outdoor terminal block. Confirm it matches the nameplate (e.g., 220–240 V). If low or unstable, contact an electrician.
  • Step 4 – Power reset: Turn off power for 10 minutes to clear any latched protection. Restore power and command cooling. If E02 reappears immediately, the outdoor PCB or compressor circuit may be at fault.
  • Step 5 – Professional check: If wiring and supply are correct, a technician should check the outdoor PCB power relay, current sensor, and compressor insulation resistance.
