Possible Causes

Blocked outdoor coil, Overcharged or undercharged refrigerant, Failing outdoor fan motor, Restricted refrigerant circuit (e.g., blocked capillary or expansion valve)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power and keep hands clear of moving fan blades. Refrigerant work must be done by licensed personnel.

  • Step 1 – Clean outdoor coil: Remove leaves and debris from the outdoor coil. Use low-pressure water from inside out to wash dirt from fins. Do not bend fins.
  • Step 2 – Check outdoor fan operation: Restore power and observe the outdoor fan. It should start promptly and run at normal speed. If slow or not running, suspect the fan motor or driver.
  • Step 3 – Ensure airflow clearance: Confirm at least 30–50 cm clearance around the outdoor unit and no hot air recirculation (e.g., under a low roof).
  • Step 4 – Power reset: After cleaning and ensuring airflow, power off for 10 minutes, then restart. If E08 persists, a technician must check refrigerant charge, compressor current, and discharge temperature.
