Possible Causes

Failed hall sensor in DC fan motor, Loose fan motor connector, Damaged fan motor harness, Faulty indoor PCB fan driver

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate power at the breaker before touching the indoor unit internals.

  • Step 1 – Inspect fan motor connector: Remove the indoor electrical cover and locate the multi-pin connector for the fan motor. Ensure it is fully seated and free of corrosion.
  • Step 2 – Check harness: Look for pinched or cut wires between the motor and PCB.
  • Step 3 – Spin test: With power off, spin the fan wheel by hand. If it is stiff or grinding, the motor bearings may be failing and overloading the driver.
  • Step 4 – Replace motor assembly: If wiring is intact and E09 persists, replace the indoor DC fan motor assembly (which includes the hall sensor). Transfer the fan wheel if required.
  • Step 5 – PCB evaluation: If a new motor does not resolve the error, the indoor PCB fan driver circuit may be defective and require replacement.
