Possible Causes
Corrupted EEPROM data on indoor PCB, Incorrect PCB replacement (wrong model code), Loose configuration jumper or DIP switch, Failed indoor control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before opening the indoor electrical compartment.
- Step 1 – Power reset: Disconnect power for at least 10 minutes to allow the control to fully discharge. Restore power and test.
- Step 2 – Check model configuration: On the indoor PCB, locate any DIP switches or jumpers used to set capacity or mode. Verify they match the unit’s rating label and Toshiba service manual.
- Step 3 – Inspect PCB for damage: Look for burnt components, corrosion, or insect damage on the indoor PCB.
- Step 4 – Reinitialize (if supported): Some Toshiba models allow an initialization procedure via remote (e.g., service mode). Follow the service manual to re-register the indoor unit.
- Step 5 – Replace PCB: If E10 persists, the indoor PCB (with EEPROM) may need replacement with the exact Toshiba part number for your model.
